He continues to say, that the cam gear and other things that have nothing to do with compression, will also need to be swapped out on the motor. I ask if he lied to me the day I picked it up and he denies saying it was compression tested and said that they only compression test the engines if a customer specifically requests that it be done. I ask for the compression numbers that they got when testing my motor and he tells me he never compression tested the engine. He tells me there must be something wrong with the timing and that I need to check that. I try to give the owner the serial or invoice number off my receipt but he just keeps asking what style motor I picked up. I went into the office with the younger kid that works there to pay for the motor while the other employees loaded the motor it into the back of my truck.Īug – 24th 9:00am – I call the motor supplier after installing the engine and discovering that there is no compression. I ask if the motor has been compression tested and he says, “ya”. I’m not happy with this and the motor has other broken sensors so I decide to go with the first motor he showed me. I look around and see that he does have a motor that I can use as a direct replacement but he tells me it will cost $200 more due to the aluminum intake. The owner says he does not have one that I want but I can get one of the newer 09-10 engines and just do some light modification to get it to work. Later that day I arrive to pick up an engine. They inform me that they do and it is on sale for $1**0. and ask if they have a replacement engine for a 2006 Subaru Impreza non-turbo.
